I walk our dog about 4-5 miles each day, so I tend to go through leashes and harnesses pretty quickly. I wanted a leash that I could use with a 2nd leash (one attached to the harness and 1 to the collar). What intrigued me about this was the length of the waist belt. I prefer not to wear it around my waist, but instead across my chest and over 1 shoulder.
So far, I’ve been quite happy with this one. It’s big enough to go over the shoulder, and then I have the pouch affixed to it near my waist, so that I can hold treats, poop bags and any other items I need. The strap is a little thin, but it’s strong and not too uncomfortable (sometimes it bites a little at my neck – but I’m using it differently than intended). So far, it’s held up well in heat and several times in the rain. I can tell the elasticity is wearing slightly – but only slightly. The hooks are strong, and they have remained corrosion free. The other cool part is that I’ve been able to run the second leash through the handles of this, keeping them both together and easy to manage.
Overall, I think this is a great solution. If you decide to only use it on your waist, it may be a little thin for your taste, but as an over-the-shoulder option, this works great. The pouch and its zipper have likewise held up well. When this wears out (as it will eventually), I’ll be happy to purchase a second one.
